When performing tasks at the Biology Olympiad, a participant must demonstrate:
- knowledge of main concepts, patterns, and laws in the structure, functioning, and development of prokaryotic, plant, animal organisms, and humans.
- knowledge of the structure and expression of genetic material, as well as methods for studying heredity.
- knowledge of plant and animal classification, patterns of organic world evolution, and ecosystem functioning.
- the ability to apply knowledge in practical activities, including solving genetic and molecular-biological problems.
